Winter Detectives Program
January 22 to March 14, 2008

Invite Boxerwood naturalists to your preschool or center
to guide children in
discovering signs of animal life in winter!

Our Winter Detectives outreach program began with an interactive reading of Stranger in the Woods, a photographic fantasy by Carl Sams and Jean Stoick.

We took the children outdoors for a winter walk at the edge of the school grounds or on a nearby wooded path to track the animal characters in the story. (45-60 minutes)

The Winter Detectives program was available from January 22 to March 14, free of charge, for licensed daycare and preschool programs in Rockbridge County.

Winter Detectives is made possible by the Dale Waller Early Childhood in Nature Program at Boxerwood.
